Orders
Anything bought through the shop lands here the moment it is paid for. Tick one off once it is bagged, posted, or handed over.
Tuesday at a glance
The short version, for looking at on a phone. The full detail sits on each step in the list below.
What we’re working on
Where the new site is up to, and anything either of us still needs to do. Tick something off and it saves straight away, so you never have to remember to press Save here.
The merch shop, and what we still need to know
Ten questions we can go through together. There are no wrong answers and “I have no idea” is a perfectly useful one, it just tells us where to look next. It saves as we go, so we can both come back to it afterwards.
How this works
The two things worth being clear on before we start: how the website moves, and what happens with the merch shop. Nothing here is decided yet except the first one.
Moving the website
The merch shop
The other company does
They carry on exactly as they do now. The new site shows your merch with the photos and prices, and sends people to the same place they already buy from.
The one thing we would need to ask them: where should customers buy once the website is no longer on Wix? If they have their own shop page, we simply point at it. If the shop only ever existed inside Wix, they would need to set one up, or it becomes the option on the right.
Nothing changes about how you get paid. No new accounts to set up.
Or you take it over
You open your own account with whoever prints the shirts, and the shop moves onto your site. The customer pays you, and you pay the printer.
More of each sale stays with you. This is the option worth talking through.
What’s on
A single line for the seasonal drink or anything you want shouted about. It sits at the top of the menu. Untick it and it disappears from the site.
Opening hours
Set the times and the website updates itself, including the line under the shop name in the big photo. Nothing to remember and nothing to keep in step by hand.
On the site right now:
A dated line here beats the weekly times above, so a holiday closure shows on the site on the day and then looks after itself.
The menu
Change a name, set a price, add a drink, remove one. Press Save changes and the website updates straight away. Leave a price blank if it is easier to say at the counter.
Beans
The bags on the shelf, in the “Beans and merch” section of the site. Same as the menu: leave a price blank if you would rather say it at the counter.
The shop
Tees, mugs and the rest. Tick Sold out and the item stays on the page but stops being buyable, which is what you want when the last one walks out the door. To take the whole shop down while the new printer is being set up, use the switch below.
What changed
Every save is kept. If something goes wrong, put an earlier version back.
